My name is Elizabeth Benedict and I am a Sydney based Registered Music Therapist currently working with babies and their parents/caregivers, running lullaby support groups.
I have a music performance degree from the Royal Northern College of Music (UK) and worked as a music teacher for many years while raising my own children. After moving to Australia in 2003 I undertook postgraduate study in Music Therapy at UTS, Sydney. In addition to my work with babies and parents, over the last twenty years I have worked across a range of settings, including in aged care and with adults and children with special needs.
I have always felt passionate about the power of lullabies and used them daily throughout the early years with my own children. I have recently spent time in New York at Mount Sinai hospital, undertaking the Rhythm Breathe and Lullaby training, an internationally recognised and specialised music therapy model which supports premature babies and their parents in the NICU setting.

I draw on these experiences to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where the relationship between parent and child can be fostered and strengthened. I see lullabies as a timeless method for calming and soothing, as well as a way of deepening connection and fostering positive attachment with your child from before birth and through childhood.
My approach is warm and inclusive as I support you to learn, discover the power of lullabies and create your own personal lullabies. We discover the significance and uniqueness of your voice for your child – and how it helps you bond with your baby, and soothe you both.
