But I can’t sing!
But you can! Your baby doesn’t care if you sing out of tune, or out of time, and most definitely does not have judgement as to whether you are any good or not. Your baby will love your voice! It is the unique sound of the voice itself, and your voice, in whichever way it is expressed, which provides the benefit.
What to sing
You can sing anything! Something you enjoy is essential. It is the intention behind the song which makes the most difference. It can be a popular upbeat song, or something from your cultural/religious heritage, your wedding song, a song from your childhood, or just a tune from any favourite piece of music. Anything can be adapted into a lullaby, and this is part of the uniqueness of this group – I support the creation of your own lullabies, adapted specially for your baby. We also learn traditional lullabies from a wealth of different countries and cultures.
